About

sariya self

Hi. I’m Sariya – wife, mother, dog mom, writer, passionate health advocate, and nature lover who is fueled by sunshine, whole foods, love, daily meditation, deep heartfelt conversations, and community.

I was born and raised in the great state of Ohio along the Ohio River. After graduating with my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Communication from Ohio University, I went on to receive my Masters of Education from Kent State University, which is where I met my amazing husband, Brian. We now live on a farm in Northeast Ohio with our two Australian Shepherds, Brody and Yoda, and our daughter, Malia (we used to have goats, but they have since moved to another farm in Wayne County).

Other than having a love for movement and healthy eating, what really launched me into a health-conscious lifestyle was struggling with various symptoms that wouldn’t resolve for nearly 10 years. My achievement-oriented personality and obsessive nature drove me to conduct hours upon hours of research to find out how to get to the root cause and find relief. Because of that, and finding a trusted network of professionals, I have learned so much. I now live a low-sugar, gluten-, dairy-, and egg-free lifestyle that focuses on holistic methodologies for healing including regular exercise, detox, a whole foods diet, and various holistic psychological practices including meditation and hypnosis.

When I’m not mixing up my favorite smoothie, hanging out with my loved ones, or riding my bike in the park, you’ll usually find me reading, listening to podcasts, attending conferences and webinars, and learning more about how to take care of the human body!

In saying that, I am so grateful that you have found my blog and I truly hope you find what you came here for. Know that you and I can be on this road to health and vitality together.
